Bust a Groove (Bust a Move: Dance and Rhythm Action in Japan) for the PSX/PS1
A cross between a dancing game like DDR and a fighting game like Tekken, I could best describe this title as a dance-off game before You Got Served XD .

Bust a Groove 2 (Bust a Move 2: Dance Tengoku Mix, "Dance Heaven Mix" in Japan) for the PSX/PS1
The sequel with improved gameplay, new characters, and new soundtrack.

Bust a Move: Dance Summit 2001 for the PS2
The Japan-only addition to the BAG/BAM franchise. All new characters, soundtrack, and gameplay. Instead of two players in a dance-off, it's four players in a dancing team, half-co-op/half-competitive.

Anyone heard of these games/like them?

For those who have never seen/heard of this game, there are a few people that post their gameplay on youTube: http://www.youtube.com/ShadowMyLove and http://www.youtube.com/BanbiFrida.

The series is popular for its top-notch and its then-unique use of the motion capture for dancing.

What got me hooked on this game, though, is the bangin' soundtrack. Natural Playboy FTW XD .

I actually thought of Puzzle Bobble briefly and was all "Hey, I like that".

This...never played.

I do have some extended remix of the Kitty N theme though. Not sure where it's from, but ummm, yay for random finds on P2P software.

Ah, yes. People still tend to confuse this game with "Puzzle Bobble" XD , hence the name change from "Move" to "Groove."

I still have that game, I like the "Fever momenst" and when the scenary gets destroyed when you dance perfectly. Also the graphics of the characters are awesome as well as the sound track (I specially liked Heat´s and Kelly´s Theme songs).

Yay! Someone here still has their copy.

Depending on what region the game is, it's hella expensive. Copies of the US versions of Bust a Groove 1 & 2 go for about US$80 each blink.gif . And yet, people regret selling their copy of Bust a Groove because it's that damn good cry.gif .

I wish I had some kinda collectible game.

I think the rarest things I have is "Lunar 2" and my "Hot Coffee Edition" of "GTA: San Andreas".

The latter was worth a stupid amount of cash at some point, but now no one cares.

Well, I'd say "Tail Concerto" is decently rare too, but no one wants it.

Funny you mentioned "Lunar 2", because I happen to own two copies of both Lunars for the PSX XD .

The reason I have two copies of each is because I misplaced both soundtrack CDs and I had to replace them. Unfortunately, there weren't any auctions that sold the soundtrack CDs by themselves cry.gif .

It's a really good soundtrack too.

One has not lived until they drive down a busy street while playing "Crowded Street Corner".

I also just remembered that brief period of time when "Twilight Princess" for Gamecube was going for $100 on amazon.

Which was stupid because you could just run down to your local store and buy it for like, $30.

Never knew there were people who played Bust-a-Move/Groove on this forum.

KITTY-N ROCKS! I especially love her dance song in the first one. She also dances in a very sexy manner...

Heat's song in the 2nd one, "The Heat is On!" is an awesome song, too!

Anyone who reembers the melody, sing along!

Ah, ah, ah, ah, PLAYBOY!

All the people every where, everybody wants to hear
my playboy philosophy
Cause I look like a star when I'm smokin' my cigar
They wanna be just like me

I know in their hearts they wish and dream
That they could be like me
But if they want to know the truth, it's true

I'm The Natural Playboy of Town
and I am blowing every mind
cause I'm one of a kind
I'm the coolest dancer around
The lights are shining down on me
so everyone can see
The Natural Playboy

I'm The Natural Playboy of Town
and I am blowing every mind
cause I'm one of a kind
I'm the coolest dancer around
The lights are shining down on me
so everyone can see
The Natural Playboy
